Carboncitos is one of the oldest, most celebrated, and authentic restaurants in all of Playa del Carmen. In fact, for nearly two decades we’ve earned the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence Award, and we have won the Tripadvisor Hall of Fame Award, as well.
Breakfast
The most important meal of the day is made special at Carboncitos: from Burritos stuffed with eggs, meat, cheese, Huevos Motulenos and Huevos Rancheros that will kickstart your morning with these traditional Mexican dishes or an American style breakfasts for those missing home, we’ve got it all.
Add fresh fruit or our house-designed and vitamin-packed juices – there’s no better way to start your day!

Lunch
As an indoor respite from the beach or packed to go, lunch from Carboncitos is delicious. Our full menu offers tacos, salads, fresh Ceviche, Fajitas, Quesadilla Huitliacoche are a few of our platos fuertes, and we have so much more, even the Best Hamburger in Playa.
Our most popular lunch dish is the Tacos Pastor, a taco filled with pork marinated in achiote chiles. Not too spicy, this tasty dish is the favorite taste of Mexico for many of our guests.
Dinner
Whether you want a quick, light bite or a long, slow meal with a bottle of wine and great friends, you’re welcome at Carboncitos. Start with an appetizer, enjoy your main course, and save room for dessert!
All desserts are made in house, and chocolate treats are our speciality. If you’re dining with a group, we can serve a variety of dishes family style to give you an authentic taste of Mexico!

Our rooftop event space is a unique venue for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, special dinners, fundraisers, and private events of any type.
The facility can accompany up to 85 guests (with a 30-person/plate minimum). Events generally include an open bar, cocktail hour during sunset, and dinner served after that. The facility closes at 10:30pm.
We customize your event and menu to your budget, with most parties ranging between $65-85 per plate. Each event has a private bar, an array of menu options, private waitstaff, and of course, stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.
We’ll walk you through options to make your event unique such as music, photography, flowers, custom decorations, and more.
